An article co-authored by Prof. Shulamit Levenberg, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, was recently published in Nature Food. The article reviews the challenges in transforming cultured meat into a commercial option. It was written as a joint collaboration between leading cultivated meat researchers: Prof. Mark Post of Mosa Meat, Prof. Shulamit Levenberg of Aleph Farms, Prof. David Kaplan of Tufts University, Nicholas Genovese, PhD of Memphis Meats, and additional cultivated meat leaders.

Prof. Levenberg heads the Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory at the Faculty and is one of the founders of Aleph Farms, the first company to grow slaughter-free meat cuts from beef cells based on a technology developed in Prof. Levenberg’s lab
