Biomedical engineering stands at the interface of science, engineering and medicine. The field combines knowledge and tools from various engineering fields for the development of methods, devices, medical accessories, diagnostic and treatment systems, and tools for the study of the physiological basis of diseases. The biomedical industry includes fields such as artificial organs, implanted aids, diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, imaging systems, rehabilitative engineering, tissue engineering and neurorehabilitation. The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate programs for students interested in integrating research, development and engineering methods in all areas of medicine. The Faculty’s state-of-the-art research labs enable the acquisition of skills and practical experience in diverse fields which are at the forefront of contemporary science.
