Engineering Studies at the Technion

Today, as science and technology move at an astounding pace, a variety of study programs offer specialization tracks for science, engineering, and engineering studies.

The engineering tracks at the Technion include: Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial and Management Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering, among others.

Biomedical Engineering is one of the newest and most quickly developing fields of engineering.

In this area, engineering tools and principles are used to meet the needs of the medical community: developing advanced medical devices for diagnosis and treatment, enhancing drug activity, tissue engineering for implantation, prosthetic organs, post-injury rehabilitation, and more.

Undergraduate and graduate students at the Technion’s Faculty of Biomedical Engineering acquire an exceptionally wide range of skills and knowledge areas. These include anatomy and physiology, signal processing, medical device design, biomaterials, optics, biomechanics and nanoparticles.

The engineering program includes meetings with representatives of the biomedical industry in Israel and entrepreneurial workshops – all to prepare the Faculty’s alumni for work in the biomedical industry.

As part of their master’s and doctoral studies, students can specialize in the field of research that most interests them, choosing among the many sub-fields available at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Technion.
